Unveiled in 1887, this window was given by the three daughters of Governor John White Stevenson (1812-1886). "The Descent from the Cross" or the "Deposition" is colorfully delineated within the frame of complicated Gothic, Tracery motifs. Appropriately placed over the mensa, or Altar, the sacrificial theme of the Sanctuary is effectively stated. A kingly Father is seated high above, framed in a tracery formed cinque-foil. Angels on either side are shown in quatrefoil panels; and, lower in the composition, multi-winged angels are framed in the trefoiled panels; these latter reminiscent of angelic motifs of Fra Angelico, the Florentine painter of the Italian Renaissance. The medieval lettering in the lower panel read, "The Blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all sin." The window was designed and fabricated by Cox Sons, Buckley & Company of London and New York.
